Everyone knows what air conditioners do right? They cool your home during our hot and humid summer days. So should you use an air conditioner or heat pump? Are you scratching your head? We know, the term doesn’t make that much sense, unless you know a little more about heating and air conditioning. We’re a Tallahassee heat pump company who’s not just here to provide great service, but to help you understand indoor comfort a little better!
To understand how they work, you need to understand a single, basic concept about HVAC systems: Indoor comfort is achieved by moving heat energy. In the summer, do you think your air conditioner blows cool air into the home? It doesn’t. It compresses a gas called refrigerant. As it compresses the gas, heat energy from the gas is dissipated into the outside air, and the gas condenses down to a chilled liquid. Once nice and cold, the refrigerant is pumped inside to the indoor coil. Warm air from the home is forced through the coil, and the refrigerant absorbs (removes) heat energy from the air. The cooled air is then sent back into the home via ducting, and the heated refrigerant is sent back to the air conditioner.
Does the above make sense? So now reverse the process in your head. Instead of the refrigerant pulling heat energy from the home, and dissipating it outside, imagine the refrigerant pulling heat energy from the air outside and then dissipating it inside. That’s how a heat pump works! It “simply” reverses the cooling process. We’re a Tallahassee heat pump company offering repair, replacement, tune-up and new design and installation services.
“My unit recently needed to be replaced due to the cost of my utility bill rising. I spoke with Marty concerning my problem and he came out and quoted a new system for me. He took into consideration my situation and gave me a quote. I went from a split system to a package unit which sits outside. The day of the install they came in, removed my air handler (which gave me more closet space), removed all my old ductwork and my condenser. They installed the new package unit outside with all new ductwork. When I returned home in the evening my house and yard looked as if nobody had been there. They cleaned up after themselves inside the house as well as outside…I want to let everybody know if you are even thinking about replacing your system you need to call High Quality Heating and Air, Inc because you will get the best job done in town.” — Andy Pickles
For full-sized split systems, we build on the foundation of Trane equipment. However, some homes or offices don’t have ducting installed. What’s the answer for this? Noisy window or floor units? Ripping up the ceiling to install ducting? The answer is a Mitsubishi ductless system from High Quality! We’re a Tallahassee heat pump company who highly recommends Mitsubishi mini-split systems. With a ductless heat pump system, you can enjoy quiet, reliable, efficient comfort in ANY living space. And, a ductless heat pump can power multiple indoor air handlers, making it a valid solution for many situations. Call us today to find out more about ductless comfort.
Another flavor of indoor comfort we offer as a trusted Tallahassee heat pump company are packaged systems. So to be clear, you have the normal split system design which locates equipment inside and outside the home (our most common installation type). Then there are ductless systems operating independent of ducting. And next are packaged, which locate all equipment outside the home, but still rely on ducting. Packaged systems are not as efficient as a split system, but they can be a life saver when indoor space is cramped. They come as all electric, and electric and gas.
We’re not just a Tallahassee Trane dealer, but a Trane Certified Comfort Specialist! What does this mean for you? It means we have the experience and service level required to receive Trane’s highest recommendation, which means you’re receiving industry leading service. You see, even the finest HVAC equipment will have problems if it’s installed incorrectly. So a manufacturer isn’t going to award a high certification to dealers who are installing and servicing systems the wrong way, as that would smear the company’s reputation. High Quality Heating and Air is dedicated to giving our customers the finest in indoor comfort solutions, and this certification exemplifies that.
